the house of second avant-garde is a project by the enterpreneur and collector andrey karpenko who bought a house in priluki village, moscow region that used to belong to the family of a famous russian non-conformist artist vladimir nemuhin, and decided to transform it into an art museum

we designed a visual identity concept for the future museum. we offered a red rhomb as a key visual element of the identity system as a reference to nemuhin’s creative journey (he worked on the imagery of play cards thoughout his whole life), and to “jack of diamonds”, an influencive russian artists‘ association that determined the development of russian avant-garde in 1920-s
